The arrival of SWS into the CIRQLR network of established regional recycling operators immediately expands the Group’s market-leading coverage to the whole of the UK from its already existing strong base across the East, South and Midlands areas of England.
By joining CIRQLR, Luton-headquartered SWS will continue to offer its full range of sustainable waste and recycling solutions trusted for decades by commercial and industrial customers but now with the added support of our eight regional business. SWS offers services to a wide range of commerce and industry and specialises in education, the care and housing management sectors.
Through its enlarged network and greater processing capacity, CIRQLR expects over time to more than double the recycling materials it handles each year from the current 600,000 tonnes to over one million tonnes of materials. CIRQLR’s continued growth, in just over two and half years since the group’s formation, is in response to increasing demand from businesses customers for recycling services all underpinned by a government-led regulatory drive to create a more circular economy.
David Palmer-Jones OBE, CEO and founder of CIRQLR, commented: “The arrival of SWS comes at an exciting time for CIRQLR, offering a step change in our national coverage and the goal to provide a more circular approach to the way businesses manage their materials.
Businesses across industry sectors every week ask us to address their desire to improve their sustainability aided by the Government’s ambitious regulatory support for a more circular economy.
We welcome on board the team at SWS with managing director Mark Sommers who adds his considerable experience and client-focused approach to CIRQLR’s senior operations team. Together we are harnessing the power of over 600 CIRQLR staff for the benefit of now approaching 16,000 customers. We maintain fully on course to meet our company central mission of “giving waste a second life.”
Mark Sommers, managing director of SWS, said: “Joining CIRQLR comes at the right time for SWS and its customers who are constantly looking for a greater variety of recycling services to address a rapidly changing regulatory landscape. Being part of CIRQLR offers only upsides for existing SWS customers and opens new opportunities to leverage the knowledge and facilities that CIRQLR’s regional subsidiaries can offer.
The expansion of CIRQLR, alongside deepening integration of the recycling service offerings between the group’s subsidiaries, allows the Group to meet the needs of a rapidly changing and growing landscape for the management of recyclable and end-of-life materials. Better data management is at the heart of CIRQLR’s ongoing growth and integration as we continue to listen to customers and address their resource management needs as we progress into the next quartile of this century.
CIRQLR has, through its acquisitions, brought together an integrated network of regional recycling operators covering the East of England from the South-Coast to the Humber.
