Business recycling group CIRQLR deepens operational leadership team to drive growth.
Commercial director joins CIRQLR to deepen service offerings to benefit customers
Business recycling group CIRQLR has brought on board to its senior leadership team Ash Marsden as commercial director to integrate recycling and waste services for customers right across the UK. Ash brings more than 13 years of industry experience with significant know-how helping key businesses improve their recycling performance within the managing of their waste streams ranging from retail and hospitality to the facilities management and construction sectors.
The arrival of Ash comes at a critical juncture in CIRQLR’s UK-wide expansion and further integration of its regional operators, as the Group helps a greater variety of large industrial manufacturers and service providers adapt to, and where possible simplify, the complex needs of managing and recycling their packaging, resource and waste materials.
Ash brings to CIRQLR his operational track record in the national account management of business customers’ waste streams including helping with their own supply chain management to improve the efficiency of the flow of materials. Ash’s hands-on customer improvement roles were perfected after nine years at Veolia to July 2021 ending up in national account management roles, followed by similar senior key account management roles at first Novati for just over two years to 2023 and most recently nearly two years with Enva before joining CIRQLR.
Ash Marsden, Commercial Director at CIRQLR, said: “Aligning the business objectives of our industrial customers to their need to maximise recycling and eliminate waste as far as possible, safely and securely, is at the heart of what makes us commercial partners and not merely waste operators.
CIRQLR’s customers span a very wide range of industries which helps us harness a deep understanding of such a variety of businesses to come up with innovative, practical and tailor-made solutions to address the unique recycling needs and constraints for the sectors and the geographies in which each customer functions. I am delighted to have joined CIRQLR at such a pivotal moment of growth and integration of the Group and all our leading regional branded waste and recycling subsidiaries.”
Gareth Lewis, Chief Operating Office at CIRQLR, added: “Ash’s welcome arrival on the CIRQLR senior management team compliments our highly customer-focused approach to waste and recycling. We are all fully committed to helping businesses better manage the materials and resources across their supply chains. CIRQLR is already accelerating the roll-out of better data analytics of the materials that go in and out the gate of customers’ premises and with Ash’s sectoral expertise we can now better deploy that knowledge for the benefit of customer growth and security of their supply chains.”
David Palmer-Jones OBE, CEO and founder of CIRQLR, commented on the appointment: “In Ash we have another proven commercial leader on board at CIRQLR to help to help customers improve their bottom line and carbon footprints. Our mission of giving waste a second life for all the 16,000 commercial and industrial customers we support is firmly on track.
Ash’s arrival as commercial director comes as we expand our reach across the UK and deepen our processing capacity, meaning CIRQLR can now double the recycling materials it handles each year on behalf of customers regionally and nationally from the current 600,000 tonnes to over one million tonnes of materials. With Government pulling all the right regulatory levers to usher in a more circular economy, CIRQLR is primed to assist businesses across industry sectors who approach us every week for help in improving their sustainability goals.”
Nine leading regional business recycling and waste management operators have joined CIRQLR in the two and half years since its formation and further expansion continues. Earlier this month Sommers Waste Management, SWS, became the latest division to join the CIRQLR network of established regional recycling operators which took Group’s market-leading coverage to the whole of the UK from its already existing strong base across the East, South and Midlands areas of England.
CIRQLR continues to invest for growth through a combination of a select few further bolt on acquisitions to in fill coverage across a few more counties, capital investment in new and upgraded recycling infrastructure and developing its people in response to new Government recycling regulation. CIRQLR today has 19 recycling facilities and is poised to invest in more infrastructure and over time double its current total of over 600 staff.
The expansion of CIRQLR, alongside deepening integration of the recycling service offerings between the group’s subsidiaries, allows the Group to meet the needs of a rapidly changing and growing landscape for the management of recyclable and end-of-life materials. Better data management is at the heart of CIRQLR’s ongoing growth and integration as we continue to listen to customers and address their resource management needs as we progress into the next quartile of this century.
